LDN UTD Launches Community-Driven NFT Initiative

LDN UTD recently announced it had launched a community engagement program based around non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This initiative will help underprivileged minors through the Rio Ferdinand Foundation, a charity founded by a former professional soccer player of the same name.

As part of the program, all members of the Rio Ferdinand Foundation initiative will be given a chance to design their own NFTs. These tokens will then be added to the LDN UTD marketplace with 10% of the profits going to charity.

“It has always been in our roadmap to become a decentralized esports org, and the fact we can continue to stick to our values of engaging community and social purpose in a unique manner with the launch of this campaign for our NFT marketplace is just another step in the right direction,” said Oliver Weingarten, the CEO of LDN UTD.

LDN UTD is an organization that combines esports with grassroots social issue campaigns. The London-based esports org was founded in 2018.
