Zwift is expected to host the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships in 2022. This online bicycle-based road race was first launched in 2020.
The UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will be broken up into races for men and women. All racers will be tasked with completing 2.5 laps of Zwift’s New York Knickerbocker course, which comes out to 34.1 miles.
UCI and Zwift have joined forces to organize five Continental Qualifying rounds that will be held in late November of 2021. The top five athletes from each race will be added to their team’s national squad and awarded a place on the starting line of the 2022 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships.
Next year’s UCI Cycling Esports World Championships will take place on February 26th, 2022.
