XTRA Gaming is facing a ton of backlash at this moment in time. This comes after a professional Fortnite player, “JeffTheMVP”, claimed that he and a friend were drugged and sexually assaulted by two TikTok content creators: SirCarter and ThatsSoRaffy. Furthermore, JeffTheMVP alleges that the owner of XTRA Gaming tried to silence him in order to protect the esports organization’s brand when he tried to go public with the matter.
“I was afraid that nobody would believe me because I’m a man,” JeffTheMVP wrote in a Twitlonger post. “I felt emasculated and small. Never had I ever felt the way that I did and do still before. My e-sports team, Xtra Gaming even made me feel wrong for wanting to get what happened to me out to the public,” he continued. “They said that I would have to leave the team if I wanted to talk about this publicly. They said it would look bad on their brand.
After the information was revealed, several XTRA Gaming content creators announced they were leaving the team. Additionally, CEO Manny “Sly” Vieites stepped down from the company. Also, Razer announced that it was terminating its partnership with XTRA effective immediately.
XTRA Gaming disbanded on November 14th, 2021. At this time, the XTRA Gaming website has been taken down. Moreover, the xtra.gg domain currently leads users to an empty Shopify template.
