2021 “League Of Legends” World Championship Brought In Over 73M Viewers

According to a recent press release from Riot Games, the 2021 League of Legends World Championship set a new personal record for esports viewership. The final match of the tournament between EDward Gaming and DWG KIA saw peak viewership reach 73.8 million people, representing a 60% increase from last year’s tournament.

In early November, the viewership data website Esports Charts reported that over 4 million people watched the 2021 LWC finals match. However, that number reportedly did not include statistics from Chinese audiences.

October was an incredibly successful month for Riot Games and League of Legends. In fact, in a statement released by the company following the launch of the League of Legends‘ RiotX Arcane event, the organization announced that 180 million active users played League of Legends in October, which was a record number for the video game publisher.
