Manchester City Signs Teenage Gamer To Enter “Fortnite” Scene

Manchester City recently announced it signed Aidan “Threats” Mong to be the organization’s first professional Fortnite player. Mong joins the team after the launch of City Solos Hunt in June, an initiative to find a player to represent Man City in Fortnite and other types of video game competitions.

Mong was able to win the City Solos Hunt competition held earlier this year. As a result, he earned a one-year contract to play with Man City. The team also plans on paying for an all-expenses-included trip for Mong to visit Ethiad Stadium once international travel restrictions are looser.

“Like most Fortnite players, I dreamed of joining a team, but I never could have imagined being part of an organization like City,” said the 16-year-old. “I am ready to represent Man City Esports and continue their winning tradition in the competitive Fortnite scene. Let’s go!”

Aidan Mong made his debut for Manchester City at the DreamHack Open which ran from October 7th to the 10th. He is also expected to take part in the Fortnite Champion Series from October 15th to October 31st.
