The Fashion Awards Introduces Category For Metaverse Design

On November 29th, The British Fashion Council (BFC) announced it would be introducing a new category, in conjunction with Roblox, as part of The Fashion Awards 2021: Metaverse Design. Five digital fashion creators from the Roblox community went head-to-head to see which one had the best metaverse design.

“As we continue to reposition The Fashion Awards as a global entertainment platform, we are so excited to announce this project with Roblox,” said Caroline Rush, BFC’s Chief Executive. “By awarding the platform’s creators we are recognizing the powerful global impact of digital fashion on communities around the world, its ability to create new trends in fashion, as well as the incredible opportunities it provides for talented young creators. I was blown away by the work, and creativity of all the nominees and am looking forward to exploring The Fashion Awards experience in the metaverse.”

The five nominees for this year’s award were CSAPPHIRE, GENKROCO, INKWAVES, REVERSE_POLARITY, and SPARKLINGS. CSAPPHIRE took home the first-ever Fashion Award for Metaverse Design.

An immersive The Fashion Awards experience was set up in Roblox to celebrate the launch of this award. This event could be accessed on the gaming platform from November 29th through December 7th.
