Boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao Launches Esports Business

Boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao recently launched a new gaming company called Team Pacquiao GG. According to Dexerto, the organization will not form any competitive teams, but it does plan on hosting and producing esports events in Southeast Asia.

Pacquiao posted a teaser about the announcement on Twitter on December 1st. Then, three days later, on December 4th, the organization was officially launched.

“This is a key strategic move for Veloce as we look to build out our joint-venture and shared ownership gaming entities off the back of our success with Quadrant with Lando Norris,” said Rupert Svendsen-Cook, the CEO of Veloce, the company that is helping launch Team Pacquiao GG as part of a joint venture with the organization. “Team Pacquiao represents our first joint-venture entity in Asia and we’re honored to be creating something that raises the bar within the region alongside an incredible team of creator talent as well as the man himself, Manny Pacquiao.”

Manny Pacquiao is a world-famous 42-year-old former professional boxer. Pacquiao officially retired from boxing this past September. He has also served as a Philippine senator since 2016.
