DFC: Cloud Gaming To Grow By $13.5B Over The Next Five Years

At this moment in time, cloud gaming only makes up 1% of the video game industry. However, according to a recently released report by DFC Intelligence, the cloud gaming market is expected to grow to $13.5 billion over the next five years.

Some of the major gaming companies identified in the report include Amazon, Epic, Facebook/Meta, Genvid, Google, Microsoft, Netflix, Nvidia, and Roblox. By 2026, consumers will likely generate $9.9 billion in the cloud gaming market, meaning revenues from cloud-based video games will total $13.5 billion over the next five years.

The study showed that interactive streaming content from the cloud finally began generating new types of revenue for the industry. This includes new forms of interactive entertainment like Massive Interactive Live Events (MILEs). Moreover, cloud gaming is being used to boost the number of people that have video game subscription services as companies begin to adopt games-as-a-service (GAAS) models.
