Razer Collaborates With “Hello Kitty”

The peripheral company Razer recently unveiled a collaboration with Hello Kitty. As a result, the two entities have joined forces to launch the Hello Kitty x Razer collection of accessories.

“Come along with Hello Kitty and Friends this holiday as they embark on an extraordinary journey to a place where limits are exceeded, epic plays are celebrated, and friendships are cherished above all else,” reads the Razer site. “Experience this adventure with exciting Razer gear as you share unforgettable moments and winning smiles with each other—because as Hello Kitty always says, ‘You can never have too many friends’, or wins.”

The collection is headlined by a Razer Iskur X Hello Kitty-themed gaming chair that includes popular characters and designs. It also reportedly can be purchased with a Hello Kitty Razer Lumbar Cushion.

The collection also comes with a Hello Kitty Razer Kraken BT Kitty Bluetooth headset. This item features a bow, redesigned ears, and plenty of Hello Kitty imagery. A Hello Kitty mouse and mousepad were also created as part of this collaboration.

The Profit‘s Take:

There isn’t much else to this story besides the Hello Kitty design. It seems to be a pretty run-of-the-mill gaming chair from Razer. I think this is going to sell out. I would argue Hello Kitty has a bigger fanbase than Lamborghini. This appeals to a female market too, which is definitely underserved in the gaming chair industry. Razer seems to have a good grip on this demographic. In the past, these tie-ins were heavily gaming-related. But, more and more, we are seeing brands activated through gaming chair licenses and products. I like this even though I wouldn’t buy it for myself.
