The Global Esports Games, a multi-title esports competition hosted by the Global Esports Federation, has unveiled the first set of partners for its inaugural tournament. Singapore Airlines, Samsung, MyRepublic, TikTok, and Razer will support the event taking place from December 18th to the 19th. Alongside the tournament, the esports convention known as GEFcon commenced on December 16th. The convention saw a range of panels discussing various aspects of the industry including how the metaverse could impact esports.
“We are thrilled by the support from world-class brands for the first-ever Global Esports Games,” said Chris Chan, President of the Global Esports Federation We are now in the final phase of preparations for the GEG. The entire team remains focused on staging a prestigious international competition as planned despite the challenging circumstances.
The competition will feature Dota 2, Street Fighter V, and eFootball 2022, with more than 40 countries expected to compete in the event. The Global Esports Games, which is set to take place at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore, will be shown on a range of platforms, including its media partner GosuGamers, Twitch, and Facebook.
Despite the 2021 edition yet to take place, the federation has already confirmed that the Global Esports Games 2022 will be held in Istanbul. Moreover, its 2023 edition will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
