2022 marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of the LCS, North America’s professional League of Legends league. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that LoL Esports announced a series of events running throughout the year to celebrate the league’s organization’s birthday.
On January 3rd, LoL Esports staff members released a blog post stating that plans were underway to honor the league’s 10th year. This is expected to include new activations, special guests, interesting rewards, and so much more.
“So in honor of our 10-year anniversary, the LCS will be offering a variety of activities and content across the 2022 competitive season,” LoL Esports staff said in the blog post. “Old faces will appear on broadcast as we look back on iconic LCS moments, and expect special episodes of our LCS shows to air throughout the season. Our programming will culminate at the 2022 LCS Championship Weekend — location and date to be announced in the coming months — a perfect domestic capstone as all eyes turn to Worlds 2022 in North America.”
The 2022 season of the LCS will begin this month. The first event will be the LCS Lock-In Tournament, which is scheduled to start on January 14th.
