On January 25th, Microsoft unveiled the company’s quarterly financial results for the three-month period that officially ended on December 31, 2021. This data showed that the organization’s gaming business continued to grow but at a slower pace than the rest of the company.
Overall, Microsoft reported that revenues increased by 20% to $51.7 billion. Meanwhile, net incomes rose to $18.8 billion, representing a 21% jump.
Microsoft’s gaming revenues increased by 8% while Xbox content and services saw revenues rise by 10% year-over-year. According to Gamesindustry.biz, the growth of Xbox content could be attributed to an increase in first-party sales and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.
During an earnings call on January 26th, Microsoft’s CEO, Satya Nadella, gave additional information about the company’s cloud efforts. In fact, Microsoft’s Cloud platform grew by 32% when compared to 2020, recording $22 billion in revenues.
