The Walt Disney Company recently appointed Mike White to lead the organization’s metaverse strategy. According to Disney CEO Bob Chapek, White will take on the role of Senior Vice President for Next Generation Storytelling and Consumer Experiences.
In this newly-created position, White will distribute resources throughout the company while exploring partnerships and providing educational materials related to the metaverse. He will also lead the team in new technology, strategy, and storytelling ventures.
“Today, we have an opportunity to connect those universes and create an entirely new paradigm for how audiences experience and engage with our stories,” Chapek said in an internal memo that was obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
Mike White has been working at Disney since October of 2011. Most recently, he served as the Senior Vice President of Consumer Experiences and Platforms at Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution.
