After operating on a purely digital level the last two years, Gamescom 2022 is returning as a live, in-person event this year, albeit with a smaller audience than we’re used to. The German event is one of the largest and most popular in the world, and its return to normalcy is quite refreshing.
Co-organizer Felix Falk said that despite its smaller numbers this year, Gamescom will still be the world’s “largest game expo” when it returns from August 24th to the 28th.
“It has all the digital parts we developed in the last two years,” said Falk. “We have COVID measures already in mind, and because we have six months to go we are looking to the measures that we will have at the end of August… We are very confident that, together with some measures we already have in place, we can get a really nice Gamescom atmosphere and feeling back.”
