The Global Esports Federation (GEF) has unveiled the three titles ahead of the inaugural Commonwealth Esports Championships (CEC), an event that will see players competing in Dota 2, eFootball, and Rocket League.
“Alongside the GEF, we are delighted to unveil three major titles for the Commonwealth Esports Championships in Birmingham this summer,” said Katie Sadleir, CEO of the Commonwealth Games Federation. “There is no doubt this innovative and exciting event will create new learnings and opportunities for us to further explore esports.”
The event takes place at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham from August 6th to the 7th. Players from across the Commonwealth will compete for medals in their respective titles. All three titles will feature a Women’s Category and an Open Category.
In addition to the event, the two parties will host the Commonwealth Esports Forum at the same venue on August 5th. The CEC will act as a separate entity from the Commonwealth Games taking place in the Summer.
