Discovery Inc. shareholders have now officially approved the organization’s merger with WarnerMedia, meaning that Discovery will soon become the parent company of WB Games. The $43 billion merger between these two entities was first announced back in May of 2021.
Discovery’s CEO, Davis Zaslav, is expected to lead the newly-formed company. According to Deadline, both sides are expected to finalize this complex deal sometime next month.
WB Games was included in the deal, meaning developers like Netherealm Studios, Rocksteady Studios, Avalanche, and WB Montreal will now operate under the Discovery umbrella. At this time, details regarding layoffs, employee movements, and studio closures have not yet been revealed.
WB games is a video game publishing company based in California that was founded in 2004. The organization is famous for creating and releasing several hit video game franchises including the Injustice series, the Batman: Arkham series, and the world-renowned Mortal Kombat series.
