On April 1st, the world-famous trading card company Upper Deck announced it would be releasing a line of Call of Duty League esports trading cards. This officially marks the organization’s second venture into the world of pro-gaming after previously teaming up with the Overwatch League in 2018.
This product line will feature limited-edition Game Dated Moments cards from some of the league’s top-performing esports athletes exclusively through UpperDeckEPack.com. This set will include championship weekend moments and will be available for purchase the week after each qualifier and major tournament.
Fans that collect all 20 Game Dated Moments cards will have the chance to earn a limited-edition four-pack championship team autographed card set. This promotion will only be available to the first 199 people that can collect all 20 cards.
“The popularity of esports has grown exponentially in recent years along with the demand for gaming-based collectibles,” said the President of Upper Deck, Jason Masherah. “We are excited to release the first Call of Duty League Game Dated Moments cards and look forward to releasing additional products later this year.”
If you have some patience though, you can wait for Upper Deck to release the Call of Duty League trading card set which is set to come out sometime later this year. The Upper Deck E-Pack website will continue providing us with updates about these products as they become available.
The Profit‘s Take:
I have a simple view on this: why are we still doing paper trading cards? Unless you are going to pull a Logan Paul, get your card minted, put diamonds on it, and wear it around your neck, then what’s the point? I don’t get it.
