Riot Games And Getty Images Renew And Expand Partnership

Riot Games recently announced it had renewed and expanded its partnership with the media company Getty Images. As a result of this deal, Getty will now provide image coverage of the League of Legends World Championships, the VALORANT Champions Tour, and the Wild Rift Global Icons Championship. Getty Images will create and distribute content from the VALORANT Champions Tour Game Changers program too.

This contract renewal will see Getty Images’ coverage expand into the VALORANT and Wild Rift esports scenes. The first two events that will be covered under this new partnership will be the VALORANT Masters Reykjavik and the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational.

“As our esports lineup continues to grow, we need a partner who will support our vision of delivering premium content to our fans around the world,” said John Needham, the President of Riot Games Esports. “Getty Images is unmatched in their expertise in the field and we are confident that our continued partnership will result in the high-quality content our communities are looking for.”

The partnership between these two organizations was first made official back in 2020 when Riot Games named Getty Images the official photo image distribution partner for League of Legends events. Since then, Getty has provided coverage for Riot on numerous occasions, including the LoL All-Star event, World Championships, and Mid-Season Invitational tournament.
