Series A Round Brings In $7M To Bombay Play

Bombay Play recently announced the organization closed a $7 million Series A funding round that brings the company’s total capital to $9.5 million. With this money, the business aims to support upcoming projects while expanding its offering into the genre of hypersocial games.

This financing round was led by Kalaari Capital. Additional contributions were made by the Lumikai FUnd, Leo Capital, PlayCo, Winzo, AdvantEdge VC, and AMEA Ventures.

“Since the inception of Bombay Play, our aim has been to create games that you can play with your friends seamlessly,” said Bombay Play co-founder Oliver Jones in a statement. “Our team’s ambition is to disrupt the current casual games market with hypersocial game designs by leveraging our cross-platform distribution channels. We are delighted to have found the confidence of investors in our journey to build a gaming innovation factory in India. With the amount raised, we will scale up existing offerings while investing in cutting-edge technologies to elevate the social experience of casual gamers worldwide.”

Bombay Play is an India-based company that was founded in 2018 by two former veterans of Moonfrog and Zynga. The business currently employs 50 people, but it is hoping to double that number by the end of the current financial year.
