Ever since Disney bought Lucasfilms, there’s been no shortage of Star Wars content. Well, the train is showing no signs of slowing down after Skydance Media announced that director Amy Hennig, who is best known for her work on the Uncharted franchise, is working on a brand new game set in the Star Wars universe.
Little is known about the project other than the studio’s announcement that it will be a “richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story” set in the Star Wars galaxy. This isn’t Hennig’s first foray into this cinematic universe. While at EA, she worked on an unnamed Star Wars project which was delayed and finally canceled after the company shut down Visceral Games where she worked.
Now, she’s looking for her redemption and that could be very sweet. Star Wars games are coming from all sides: Ubisoft, EA, Quantic Dream, etc. TT Games released LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which has been all the rage of late. So, while Hennig will have some competition, she’s certainly the right person to be in charge.
At this time not much other information is known about the game. A name and release date have not been revealed at this time. However, we will be sure to update you as soon as we hear anything.
