Devil May Cry 5 Has Almost Sold 5M Units

Devil May Cry 5 just hit a major milestone. According to the title’s publisher, Capcom, total sales for the game across PS4s, Xbox Ones, and PCs have hit 4.8 million copies sold as of December 31st, 2021.

What’s even more impressive is that Capcom reported that sales of the game have regularly increased by 100,000 to 200,000 copies during each of the company’s recently held quarterly sales reports. Still, it’s not 100% clear how accurate these statistics are since Capcom did not say whether the numbers from the Special Edition of Devil May Cry 5 were included in these sales reports.

Devil May Cry 5 is an action-adventure game that was released in March of 2019. The title was later ported for Amazon Luna in December of 2021 after a special edition of the game was launched for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2020.

This game’s story takes place five years after the events of Devil May Cry 4. It follows the journey of three warriors with demonic powers who are attempting to stop Demon King Urizen from destroying the human world. Players must use these characters to journey across Red Grave City, fight monsters, and, eventually, save the world. Along the way, we learn more about the mystery behind one of the game’s new characters, Vee, and their connection to Urizen.
