OverActive Media recently announced that they had signed a European roster to compete in VALORANT esports. More details about the roster, location, and branding will be revealed later this month, according to the company.
“Every game has its own unique community, and by expanding into VALORANT, we’re unlocking further opportunities for meaningful and authentic engagement while building a team that can be competitive and win at the highest level,” said Adam Adamou, Chief Strategy Officer of OverActive Media.
Adamou added that fielding a VALORANT roster had been on the organization’s radar since the game was launched. He went on to say that this acquisition was truly an exciting milestone for OverActive Media.
As of this writing, the game ranked as the fifth most-watched game on Twitch. Data from Newzoo also revealed that VALORANT reached 111.1 million total hours watched on the live streaming platform with 13.3 million hours for VALORANT esports, specifically.
