Nets Gaming Crew Announces Partnership With The State University Of New York

NBA 2K League franchise Nets Gaming Crew (NetsGC) has announced a partnership with the State University of New York (SUNY) for an educational program held in the New York metropolitan area. The deal will also see SUNY named Official Education Partner for NetsGC. The program aims to gather and educate high school students to bolster career opportunities in the esports industry.

“The SUNY Esports league has grown tremendously, now encompassing teams from 51 SUNY schools, and we credit this to the accessible, positive competitive experience it provides for our students,” said Deborah F. Stanley, Interim SUNY Chancellor. “We are pleased to partner with NetsGC to introduce more students in the NYC area to the opportunities of a SUNY education and careers in the gaming industry.”

In addition, high school and collegiate esports tournaments are also included in the project. The first event was held on May 2nd, with the series culminating at NetsGC’s facility in the Barclays Center. The competitions will be hosted via the esports platform LeagueSpot.
