Untamed Planet recently announced it had closed a $24.3 million funding round to make 3D immersive nature games that utilize both the metaverse and NFTs. With this money, Untamed Planet will partner with the mobile gaming firm nWay to create a game that benefits global conservation efforts known as Untamed Metaverse.
This funding round was led by Animoca Brands, the parent company of nWay. Unsurprisingly, Animoca Brands will support the development of Untamed Metaverse as well.
“What excites me about the Untamed Planet mission is the opportunity to merge mainstream gaming with the new prospects that Web3 enables for digital ownership by players in order to drive real-world conservation – this project is epic,” said Scott Bandy, studio head of Untamed Planet, in a statement. “We couldn’t have hoped for better partners than Animoca Brands and nWay.”
Untamed Planet uses the Roblox platform to create natural environments while incorporating NFTs into the game that is built on the Solana blockchain. Furthermore, the company said it donates 50% to 100% of its NFT sales to conservation organizations.
