Mobile Premier League Hit With Copyright Infringement Lawsuit

Social gaming platform WinZo has filed a lawsuit against mobile gaming platform Mobile Premier League (MPL), citing copyright and trademark infringement of its proprietary game format, World War. WinZo has responded by seeking an injunction against MPL for the same.

In its complaint, WinZo stated that MPL had launched a game with a similar name in March 2022, which was ultimately changed to Team Clash. However, promotions from MPL continued to carry the tag of World War.

The case originally came to the Delhi High Court on June 3rd and is next scheduled for hearing on July 4th. Justice Navin Chawla planned the long hiatus to give WinZo and MPL enough time to work out a mutual settlement.
