On June 5th, Razer unveiled the Basilisk V3 and the DeathAdder Essential gaming mice, the first gaming mice in the world to achieve an ECOLOGO certification from the global safety science leader, UL. This all comes as part of a recent World Environment Day celebration by the globally-recognized gaming peripheral manufacturer.
Both accessories have passed UL270, the Outline of Investigation for Sustainability for Portable Electronics, meaning these devices have been deemed sustainable products. The ECOLOGO mark indicates that these products also received evaluations from an independent scientific third party. It’s all part of Razer’s ten-year sustainability initiative known as the Go Green With Razer plan.
“What better way to celebrate World Environment Day than to share with our community that the very mice that help them win in games are also a win for the environment,” says Kenneth Ng, the Sustainability Manager at Razer. “Unlike companies making their own claims about their products being sustainable, we go the extra mile to prove to our fans that our products are truly sustainable. Our community of gamers can rest assured that their favorite mice have been thoroughly vetted by a trusted scientific organization that looked at a comprehensive list of criteria to award us with the ECOLOGO Certification.”
The Razer DeathAdder Essential gaming mouse currently costs $29.99 on the Razer website. The Basilisk V3 mouse is a little more expensive at $69.99
