Scholastic esports platform PlayVS, in conjunction with Nintendo, is giving away free copies of Splatoon 3 and Nintendo Switch bundles to eligible student participants. The amateur esports tournament organizing platform has dedicated itself to the growth of high school esports, and this fall will begin supplying enrolled teams with said goodies.
The Nintendo bundles will include a Switch, one-year Switch Online membership, and a game code for either Super Smash Bros. or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, depending on what game the selected team is enrolled in. The giveaway also includes a plethora of accessories valued at around $615.
Since partnering with Nintendo in 2021, PlayVS claims to have given away more than 1,750 bundles, totaling around $800,000. The organization says that its goal is both to increase the accessibility of esports as extracurricular activities, and to “develop critical 21st-century skills and potentially set them (high school students) on track to receiving an esports college scholarship.”
To qualify for the giveaway event, interested parties must sign up to PlayVS’ official website to enroll before the start of the fall season.
