The XP League recently announced that entrepreneur Jennifer Vilela will launch the brand’s first Florida franchise this Fall. This marks one of the first franchisees to sign on with the league since it joined the Unleashed Brands family of companies.
Vilela has spent the last 20 years as a realtor but still has a connection to the esports and gaming industry. Jake “BullyWYD” Vilela, one of her four sons, is a professional Fortnite player. Also, she serves on the advisory board of the Coalition for Parents in Esports.
“Gaming is not going away. I love that it’s being acknowledged as a sport and there are so many college opportunities out there. XP League is amazing since we are bringing a team environment, coaching and education to the sport, which is what sold me on opening a franchise,” she said. “So many towns are eager for esports to be in their communities and trying to figure out how to make it work. There is so much demand for these programs right now.”
Jennifer reportedly plans on opening her franchise location in Palm Beach County, Florida. And, according to a press release, it is expected that her son Jake will be involved with the business.
The XP League is an esports league that is modeled after classic youth sports organizations. The company was founded to provide an easy access point into the esports space for both parents and their children.
