Netflix Scraps Resident Evil TV Show

Netflix recently announced it was canceling its live-action Resident Evil TV show. This comes just a few months after the release of the show’s eight-episode first season.

Overall, the show was streamed for over 72 million hours during the week it debuted on the world-famous streaming service, making it the second most popular Netflix program when it came out behind only Stranger Things. However, that success was short-lived after the show fell to third place in its second week. By week three, the show had fallen out of Netflix’s top ten entirely.

Many factors contributed to the show’s downfall. It was met with mixed reviews, registering a 55% rating on Rotten Tomatoes alongside a 27% approval rating from audiences.

This is pretty upsetting news for people who actually liked the show since season one ended on a cliffhanger. Now, it seems like fans will be left hanging from that cliff for a VERY long time.
