Mobile Gaming Is On The Decline

For the first time in many years, mobile gaming is on the decline. According to data from Sensor Tower, The U.S. mobile gaming market fell by almost 10% over the last year.

The industry was able to generate $11.4 billion in revenues. However, the only categories of mobile gaming to see revenues rise in the first half of 2022 were Arcade and Tabletop games.

Racing games experienced the greatest dropoff with year-over-year revenues falling by 28.8%. Geolocation-based Augmented Reality games saw revenues decrease by 26%.

Revenues weren’t the only area of mobile gaming that has taken a hit during the first six months of this year. Mobile game downloads also fell 2.5% year-over-year to hit 2.4 billion downloads.
