Developer Atlus recently announced plans to launch a Persona 5 Royal co-op card game. This game is being developed by Atlus as part of a partnership with Pandasaurus Games. This card game is also being created by Emerson Matsuuchi, the person who helped design board games like Century: Eastern Wonders and Foundations of Rome.
“Players will take on the roles of their favorite Phantom Thieves and fight to change the world in this cooperative card-based strategy game,” Matsuuchi said.
At this time, not much is known about the game. IGN is reporting it’ll “likely be a standalone release instead of a collectible product.” Moreover, it’s believed that players will be able to explore and interact with various Persona 5 Royal locations, including supernatural areas.
At this time, the card game is expected to come out during the fourth quarter of 2023. According to a recent announcement post, October 21st, 2023 is the release date the company is currently targeting.
Personal 5 Royal was released in 2019 as an enhanced version of the original Persona 5 game that came out in 2016. This RPG follows high school students that form a vigilante group after they discover that they all have special powers.
