A Garbage Pail Kids Video Game Is Coming This Month!

Developer Retrotainment Games recently announced that it would be releasing a brand new Garbage Pail Kids video game later this month. The entirely 8-bit game is being published by iam8bit.

“For years we’ve wanted to bring the Garbage Pail Kids to life in 8-bit form and we’re honored that Topps allowed us to give GPK the game it’s deserved for 30+ years,” said Tim Hartman, one of the producers at Retrotainment.

Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum allows players to control four unique characters throughout their time-traveling journey. Players will be allowed to swap between GPKs based on what challenges they are facing. And, users will be able to collect official 8-bit versions of GPK trading cards that can be used during in-game battles.

This game will be available digitally on PS4s, PS5s, the Xbox Series X|S, the Nintendo Switch, and PCs starting on October 25th, 2022. There will also be a physical, NES version of the game sold online. If you’re interested in preordering the game, you can do so by clicking here.
