Activision-Blizzard is once again facing a sexual harassment lawsuit. This comes after a female employee alleged that her then-manager threatened to release revenge porn against her.
In the lawsuit, the plaintiff, who is currently being identified as Jane Doe, said “Activision-Blizzard is a massive video game company with a massive sexual harassment problem.” The lawsuit alleges sexual battery, sexual harassment, gender discrimination, intentional emotional distress, and the failure to prevent harassment. Jane Doe is now seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages against the organization as well as former manager Miguel Vega.
According to MSN, Doe met Vega in either 2009 or 2010, before officially joining Activision-Blizzard. The two eventually formed an online friendship which resulted in her sending “compromising photos” to Vega. The suit then states that the relationship ended in 2011 after Jane Doe met her future husband.
Years later, Vega apparently helped Doe land a job with Activision. However, the lawsuit goes on to say that Vega repeatedly groped Doe at work and often attempted to kiss her after. Beyond that, Vega also reportedly belittled and insulted Doe, telling her that she had bad ideas and that she had “a job a monkey could do.”
In August 2021, Vega allegedly threatened to release the aforementioned compromising photos to the public so that he could get Doe to leave her husband to be with him. Doe eventually reported this to management, which led to Vega being fired.
