The European multinational software company SAP recently announced that it had agreed to a partnership with Valve for The International 2022. This deal saw SAP become the official cloud analytics partner of the Dota 2 World Championship. Additionally, SAP worked with Valve to improve the data used throughout the event’s broadcasts.
This partnership reportedly focused on pre-match and post-match analytics. This included identifying the best hero for each player, win/loss data, and tournament tracking metrics.
“The pursuit of continuous innovation is the backbone of our business at SAP and the reason we are active in esports,” said Lars Lamade, Head of Global Sponsorship at SAP. “Partnering with Valve was a logical next step and we are committed to leveraging SAP technologies that will improve and improve fans’ impressions during The International 2022”.
The International 2022 ran from October 15th to the 30th. Tundra Esports wound up winning the whole thing after successfully sweeping Team Secret in the Grand Finals by a score of three to zero.
