Stream Hatchet recently released its Video Game Live Streaming Trends Q3 2022 Report. This study provided an analysis of game streaming and esports viewership trends across major platforms. This included insights into streamers, games, streamer demographics, and more.
Unfortunately, live-streaming viewership was actually down during the third quarter of 2022. Despite this fact, streaming viewership levels are still nearly double what they were before the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, esports viewership is up 40% year-over-year when compared to Q3 2021.

xQc still holds the title of the top content creator in the live streaming space today. However, there were several changes to the streaming leaderboard after him. In fact, Ibai fell out of the top ten entirely, dropping to 12th on the list.
There was also an influx of non-English-speaking creators that made their way onto the list. This includes two Spanish speakers, two Portuguese speakers, one Japanese speaker, and one German speaker.
The number of VTubers, or virtual YouTubers, in the live streaming space is also growing. 50% of the top female streamers during Q3 2022 were VTubers.
