A new study has confirmed the most popular video games of 2022 according to social media. This report, which was conducted by USwitch, provided an analysis of the most popular video games released this year based on the combined number of Reddit posts, TikTok views, and Instagram mentions related to each game, giving it a social media score out of ten points.
Based on this metric, Elden Ring is the most popular game of 2022. The FromSoftware game was able to register a social media score of 9.86 out of ten.
Three games finished with a score of at least eight on the social media scale. Placing second on the list, with a score of 8.84, was Dying Light 2. In third place we had Overwatch 2 (8.71) followed by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl in fourth place.
The rest of the list, in order, went Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Horizon Forbidden West, Splatoon 3, God of War Ragnarök, WWE 2K22, and The Quarry.
