Cyberpunk 2077 may once again be getting an update, this time in the form of a completely new game. CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski recently revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 would be getting a “Game of the Year” edition “likely” sometime next year.
“It’s the natural order of things – it was the same with The Witcher, which after both expansions was finally released as a Game of the Year Edition and has been on the market that way ever since,” said Kicinski. “The same can be expected in this case.”
As explained by Forbes‘ Paul Tassi, a Game of the Year edition of Cybperunk 2077 is basically just a “complete” version of the game. This means that it will feature all the recently made additions and new DLC packs.
Cyberpunk 2077 was originally released in December 2020. Since then, the game has sold over 20 million units as of September 2022 according to Statista.

This story annoys me. They did this with The Witcher BECAUSE it won game of the year (for what that’s worth). Cyberpunk never won any GOTY award. It’s completely misleading and dishonest advertising.
