Sources: Tencent’s TiMi Gaming Studio generated $10B in 2020

According to a recent article by Reuters, Tencent’s TiMi Studios generated $10 billion of revenue last year. Reuters sources are now saying that this revenue generation makes TiMi “the world’s largest developer.”

This news comes after Tencent reported revenues of $23.79 billion in online gaming last year. According to the two individuals that spoke to Reuters, TiMi’s proceeds accounted for 40% of the company’s game revenue.

TiMi Studios is a video game developing company founded in 2008. Some of the games it is most famous for include Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings.

The two people interviewed chose not to be identified because the information that was revealed has not yet been made public. At this time, Tencent has not yet replied to Reuters to comment on the reports.

The Profit‘s Take:

The scale of Tencent’s gaming business is incredible. No surprise that a lot of this revenue is driven by mobile games and they have become one of the go-to providers for those who want to outsource / license mobile game development. Seeing as how Activision Blizzard no longer makes new games, TiMi may hold the title of world’s largest developer forever.
