epic.LAN’s New Event Will Be A Mix Of Offline And Online Elements

Esports event organization epic.LAN recently revealed its next event, Epic33, will be a mixture of online and offline components. The event will take place in Coventry, England this summer.

“Unfortunately our usual venue is not available for Epic33 this July. That left us with a dilemma for the event, which was already challenging with the global pandemic and the roadmap in England,” said epic.LAN Managing Director Jon Winkle on the company’s website. “Technically, events should be okay from June 21st, but the situation is constantly evolving and we’re watching Government and industry guidelines really carefully. So we’ve come up with a plan that will allow us to host Epic33 in a safe way for a small number of people who want to try attending events again while retaining the online event format that has been popular for us over the past 12 months.”

Epic33 will take place from July 1st to July 4th. It will begin with online activities including several esports tournaments. After that, select individuals can upgrade their tickets for a fee to join a scaled-back physical LAN (Local Area Network) at its temporary home in Coventry.

epic.LAN is a traditional bring your own computer (BYOC) LAN party located in the United Kingdom. The size of the company’s LAN parties varies from 32 people up to 750.
