CMG.ASIA Teams Up With NRG Esports

Vietnamese entertainment company CMG.ASIA recently announced it has joined forces with NRG Esports. As a result, the organizations launched NRG Asia, a management company that will develop esports entities throughout Southeast Asia.

NRG Asia also announced it acquired GAM Esports, the current VCS League of Legends champions, from marketing body yup.gg. The financial details of the deal have not been released at this time.

“With the expansion of NRG into Southeast Asia, we are excited to begin this new journey headquartered here in Vietnam,” said the CEO of NRG Asia Tk Nguyen. “Starting off with the 5-time League of Legends VCS Champions, GAM, our goal is to elevate GAM from being Vietnam champions to leading World Championship contenders by providing them additional resources and knowledge by top esports leaders. In addition, having the opportunity to work with an exceptional leader like Andy Miller, who has successfully created multiple championship esports teams, is beyond exciting for all of us.”

NRG has been making a widespread effort for global expansion throughout 2021. The organization also owns the Overwatch League team the San Fransisco Shock, the OpTic Chicago Call of Duty League franchise, and the Rocket League team The General NRG.
