Harrisburg University recently announced it will be launching an esports journal. The publication, called the Annals of Esports Research (AER), is the first esports journal in North America.
“AER publishes innovative original research, opinion, and educational information related to Esports. All disciplines and approaches to understanding Esports are encouraged, with special interest in the health, performance and experience, and well-being of players, fans, and coaches. The journal also will cover industry practices and outlooks and the teaching, management, and research of Esports,” the organization said in a press release.
The AER will be an internationally distributed, peer-reviewed journal. The organization said it will be dedicated to publishing articles and content that expand and grow the global esports community while connecting gamers from around the world.
The Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is a STEM-focused school located in Pennsylvania. The college has roughly 7,000 students.
