Dr DisRespect Criticizes “Underdeveloped” YouTube Gaming

Herschel “Dr DisRespect” Beahm IV recently fired verbal shots at YouTube Gaming. During a May 19th video game stream, the American internet celebrity said “you can’t do anything on YouTube!”

“You can’t do anything on YouTube, Z. It’s underdeveloped right now. It’s very underdeveloped for live streaming,” Dr DisRespect continued. “The big announcement they made recently was like the chat can be subscriber-only chat. I mean, that’s an idea from 1999! What are we getting excited about man?”

Dr DisRespect has been the center of many controversies. In June of 2020, he was reportedly banned from Twitch permanently. Beahm IV also recently made comments on 100 Thieves naming Rachel “Valkyrae” Hofstetter and Jack “CouRage” Dunlop as the company’s new co-owners, saying he believed it was “more of a PR thing.”

Dr DisRespect is one of the most famous streamers in the world. He has over 3.3 million YouTube subscribers and more than a million Instagram followers.

The Profit‘s Take:

Dr Disrespect is 100% correct. YouTube’s product offering is terrible and still lags significantly behind Twitch from a livestreaming standpoint. The best they’ve done is copy Twitch features, with no innovation or original thoughts of their own. This is especially frustrating when you consider the vast amounts of tech and resources that YouTube Gaming has at their disposal (being a Google property). This underachieving comes down to bad management, plain and simple.
