On May 31st, Danish esports organization Astralis announced it will be opening a gaming and entertainment center in Copenhagen, Denmark. The venue is scheduled to open on June 19th.
The 1,200-square-meter gaming and entertainment venue will feature 130 pro gaming stations. The center will also have four VIP rooms, three streaming hubs, an auditorium showroom, and a merchandise store.
The inaugural opening is scheduled for 10 AM on June 19th. Attendees will have a chance to meet professional Astralis gamers, receive goodie bags, and be eligible for discounts on products featured throughout the day’s event.
Astralis is a Danish esports organization founded in 2016. The company has teams competing in titles such as CS:GO, FIFA, and League of Legends.
The Profit‘s Take:
Esports teams are in a constant struggle to avoid death by way of cash burn. These attempts at generating revenue outside of their “core” business may be a lifesaver or a complete distraction. The good news in this case is we will know if this worked given that Astralis is a public company.
