It was recently announced that Lake Belton High School received an $8,000 grant from the National Guard. These funds will be used to build an esports lab in the school.
A full esports lab will be installed on the Lake Belton High School campus in Bell County, Texas. The venue will be outfitted with five new gaming stations on top of the systems the school’s esports team already has.
“It’s a great opportunity for kids that don’t really have a place sometimes. We have a home, we’ve found friendships, we learn problem-solving, it’s very inclusive,” said Kristie Shepherd, the esports coach at Lake Belton High School.
Lake Belton High School is located in Temple, Texas. There are roughly 2,800 kids enrolled at the school.
