It was recently announced that T1 Entertainment & Sports signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks gaming, the esports affiliate of the Japanese baseball team, the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The two companies will work together to enter the esports industry.
The organizations will conduct development training programs for League of Legends players. They will also create joint marketing initiatives to expand their presence in the League of Legends communities while forming new strategic alliances with other companies in the global gaming market.
“We are very pleased to announce our alliance with T1, known as the three-time winner of the LoL World Championship,” said SoftBank HAWKS COO Hiroaki Ota. “The organization is also home to ‘Faker’ who is one of the best players in LoL and loved by fans around the world. We hope to learn the expertise in team management and player development to create a world-class esports team.”
T1 Entertainment & Sports was launched by SK Telecom and Comcast Spectacor in October of 2019. The organization fields teams playing in titles like League of Legends, Fortnite, Dota 2, PUBG, Hearthstone, and Apex Legends.
