Sony recently announced it signed a deal with Deviation Games to make a brand new IP for PlayStation consoles. This is the second exclusive IP deal unveiled by Sony in recent months.
The IP is being created by former Call of Duty: Black Ops developers Dave Anthony and Jason Blundell. Both individuals previously worked on the Call of Duty franchise for Treyarch.
“Obviously we’re not announcing a game, but a partnership today, which means it’s a little while out,” said the head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst. “But at the same time, we’ve been working together for a while now. It’s not like we signed the deal yesterday. We’ve been working together for about a year, a year-and-a-half. And it’s going really well. We have our guys who are actively involved in the development, that play the stuff that we’re making.”
Not much more is known about the new title being released by Deviation Games. It is expected to be a large-scale gamer though since the Los Angeles-based company currently has over 100 employees.
