Content platform Hiber recently announced the company raised $15 million in a Series A round of fundraising. The investment round was led by EQT Ventures with participation from CMT digital, Luminar Ventures, Bumble Ventures, Konvoy Ventures, and Sybo.
These funds will help grow the new and emerging social medium that is targeted at members of Gen Z. To date, Hiber users have created over one million interactive gaming experiences.
“Having EQT Ventures on board is a huge validation that we are on the right track in growing our business and our platform. Their knowledge of the interactive media and digital consumer entertainment spaces is phenomenal and we are already benefiting from their feedback and guidance,” said Hiber CEO Michael Yngfors. “We are confident that with them backing us, we will reach our goal of empowering Gen Z to express themselves through creation, even faster.”
Hiber was originally launched as “HiberWorld” in 2017. The Swedish company has served as a platform for mobile UGC (user-generated content) since 2019.
