Esports organization Dignitas recently unveiled a four-year naming rights deal with digital bank QNTMPAY. As a result, Dignitas’ LCS team will be renamed Dignitas QNTMPAY.
The name change took effect on June 4th. This is the first naming rights deal in the LCS since the organization moved to a franchise model in 2018.
“The union between Dignitas and QNTMPAY for the first franchise-era LCS team entitlement is more than just a partnership, it’s a seminal moment for the world of esports,” Dignitas CEO Michael Prindiville told The Esports Observer. “It’s about innovation, opening up new opportunities, and creating a healthier ecosystem for the players, fans, teams, publishers, and innovative products authentic to the space.”
Dignitas’ academy will also be rebranded to DIG QNTM Academy. The new name will also be prominently displayed on the team’s jerseys and social media accounts.
The Profit‘s Take:
The industry trend for the second half of 2021 is clearly going to be crypto dollars flowing into gaming in a much more visible way.
