Simplicity Esports Acquire California Gaming Center, Later Teams Up With ESTV

On July 27th, Simplicity Esports and Gaming announced it had acquired all assets owned by a California-based PLAYlive Nation franchise. As a result of this deal, Simplicity has now become the official owner of an esports venue located at the Northridge Mall in Salinas, California.

“I am excited to continue executing our growth strategy of acquiring existing gaming centers and signing percentage rent leases with landlords. As we have previously stated, our gaming center acquisitions generated approximately $3,000,000 in sales in 2019, and all of our corporate-owned gaming centers currently operate with percentage rent leases,” said Roman Franklin, the CEO of Simplicity Esports and Gaming. “We plan to include the Salinas location in our crypto mining program, that mines cryptocurrency during periods when gaming stations are idle, once the location is fully operational with its PCs. Assuming no new COVID-19 related restrictions, I expect customers to continue returning to our gaming centers and revenues to continue growing as a result of the increased traffic.”

On August 9th, Simplicity revealed it had entered into a joint venture agreement with ESTV. As part of this deal, ESTV will broadcast multiple events with Simplicity Esports and Gaming.

This agreement will see both organizations work together to host several Ultimate Gaming League and Fortnite Box Fighting Championship events. It is being reported that these tournaments will feature live, in-person attendance.
