DraftKings recently launched its own nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace. The company said it will offer users NFT drops as part of a partnership with Autograph, an NFT organization founded by Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Quarterback Tom Brady.
The NFT marketplace will be fully integrated into existing Draftkings apps. The exchange currently operates using U.S. dollars only.
“Over the last year, what’s become very apparent is that the same customer that we’ve attracted for sports betting or fantasy, a decent chunk of their time is going towards other hobbies that are very aligned with their interests, whether that’s crypto, day-trading or collectibles,” said DraftKings’ co-founder Matt Kalish. “And not just physical collectibles like sports cards, but our users are the early adopters in digital collectibles like NFT projects.”
Autograph has exclusive NFT deals with many superstar athletes. This includes Tiger Woods, Wayne Gretzky, Derek Jeter, Naomi Osaka, and Tony Hawk.
